Description | Consistent with Redeemer’s holistic liberal arts and science approach to education, our Environmental Studies program offers a multi-disciplinary “big picture” perspective on some of the most challenging issues of our time. You will learn to integrate scientific, technological, social, political, economic, theological, philosophical and perhaps even artistic perspectives to gain a deep understanding of current environmental issues. Through hands-on learning in labs and field work, as well as experiential learning opportunities through an internship, independent research project, and off-campus courses, you will gain valuable skills for a career or further study in environment-related fields. Finally, you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to faithfully live out God’s calling to care for His creation and make a difference for the good of His world.
In this stream, the social aspects of environmental issues are emphasized. In addition to courses about contemporary environmental issues, sustainability, and environmental philosophy, you will learn about cultural geography, economics, politics, social movements, literature, and more. | | |
