Description | Redeemer is the only Christian university in Ontario that offers an Art degree. Our professors and lecturers are committed to nurturing you as a student, artist, and person and want to teach you, as well as involve you, in Hamilton’s growing art culture in downtown. We encourage you to cultivate your talent in either our General Art Major, Studio Art Minor or Art History Minor streams. Students have opportunities to work as practicing artists and art teachers, or to pursue further studies in art therapy, graphic design, and art history or aesthetics.
Art and design students at Redeemer can take a variety of studio courses in design, drawing, sculpture, computer-based art, and media language including art appreciation, art history courses and courses which explore your relationship between art and faith. Our instructors take the time to connect, to ask questions and to offer encouragement as they challenge you to develop your ideas and technique, giving you the opportunity to display your work in Redeemer’s Art Gallery as well as explore the vibrant art culture of Hamilton and beyond.
