Description | Industrial engineers improve the way people interact with technologies and systems. They help organizations run more smoothly, safely, efficiently and profitably.
Industrial Engineering (historically called 'Systems Engineering') at U of T is the top program of its kind in Canada. Professors bring their research into the classroom, which allows you to take part in ground-breaking work that has practical implications. One research focus is healthcare: our program has close ties with the U of T medical school and major teaching hospitals located on the edge of campus. An exciting new research direction is applying engineering principles to the design of cancer treatment programs.
