Description | Aerospace Engineering is the branch of engineering involved in the science, design, manufacture and operation of manned or unmanned vehicles travelling within or beyond the earth’s atmosphere. It is a highly multi-disciplinary field involving knowledge of aerodynamics, dynamics and control, structures and materials, combustion and propulsion, aeroacoustics, as well as atmospheric and space physics. At the Division of Engineering Science, our undergraduate aerospace program is designed to give a broad but comprehensive introduction to all of the basic areas of Aerospace Engineering, preparing students for careers in industry, where they help keep Canadian companies at the forefront of innovation globally, or at top graduate programs leading to advanced research degrees. This comprehensive, multidisciplinary program is delivered by professors at the University’s internationally recognized Institute for Aerospace Studies (UTIAS).
