DescriptionThe low residency masters program at Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver, BC is designed for established professionals whose practical circumstances make relocation to Vancouver or the resident schedule unworkable. The duration of the Low Residency program is 28 months over seven semesters and while it is flexible, it is not part-time. The requirements and benefits, including internship/independent study period are equivalent to the resident program; the difference is in the mode, duration, and rhythm of delivery.

The program is structured primarily around three four-week summer intensive residencies on campus in Vancouver during July. These semesters exceed a full-time schedule and are periods of intense development in response to significant interaction with faculty and visiting artists. Students can only begin the program in the summer semester.
