Description | Arts & Science at McMaster should not be thought of as a Faculty of Arts and Science; rather it is a small interdisciplinary program, with a rigorous curriculum. The program puts great emphasis on the development of students’ skills of inquiry, communication and critical thinking, and it provides students with some understanding of the major achievements of selected arts and science disciplines. The curriculum has been planned with three major objectives in mind: to enable substantial work in both the arts and the sciences; to develop skills in writing, speaking, and critical reasoning; and to foster the art of scholarly inquiry into issues of public concern.
