DescriptionAnthropology is an interdisciplinary field that enables students to learn about the cultural and biological diversity of humans. Focusing on medical, applied, visual and environmental anthropology, our Anthropology program is one of the only ones in Canada where the full-time professors are members of First Nations. The program includes courses on ethno-medicine and cross-cultural healing practices, public health and epidemiology, food choices and disease prevention, theories of material culture, visual ethnography, anthropology of the arts, Indigenous photography and decolonization, and environmental anthropology. A field course is offered in Costa Rica every second year.
