Description | The first undergraduate program of its kind in Canada, the Biomedical Systems Engineering Option uniquely prepares students for advanced studies and careers in biomedical engineering by providing an interdisciplinary curriculum that builds strong foundations in both engineering and the life sciences. The innovative curriculum equips our graduates to tackle complex bioengineering problems and design challenges with a systems approach that integrates chemical, mechanical, and electrical engineering to provide molecule-to-organ system understanding. Our graduates are contributing to tremendous conceptual and technological advances in the biomedical sciences to improve the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases and to other health-related issues.
