DescriptionOur two-year Civil Engineering Technology: Structural program is where you’ll learn about steel, timber and reinforced concrete design, structural analysis, engineering drawings, soils and materials testing and quantity surveying. A combination of in-class and on-the-job experiences will prepare you to assist in the design and construction of building systems, and perform site inspections and testing. Your first year of training will cover the basics of building engineering technology. In your second year, you’ll specialize in all the specifics of structural technology, as well as general communications and mathematics to help you out in the business world.

As a graduate of this program, you could start a career as a structural design technologist, structural engineering technician, or structural investigator in engineering consulting offices. You could work in the civil inspection field or with steel fabrication firms, as well as with municipal, provincial and federal government departments and services.
