    To apply to the undergraduate MD program, a four-year degree in any discipline from an accredited university is required. Although candidates with three-year degrees are occasionally admitted, a four-year degree is strongly preferred. The Admissions Committee recognizes that the appropriate preparation for the study of medicine can be acquired through many varied educational backgrounds. There are no specific course requirements to apply to the MD program. You must meet the minimum GPA requirement in each year being assessed to be considered for admission. Residents of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick & Prince Edward Island are required to have a minimum of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale in each year assessed. Residents of all other Canadian provinces and territories are required to have a minimum of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale in each year assessed.

    Application Notes : To be considered eligible for Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine, you must meet our minimum academic requirements (GPA and MCAT) based on your place of residence. In terms of MCAT scores, residents of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island need to have a minimum total score of 499. Can have only one section score of 124, but the total score must still meet minimum. Any section score of 123 or less is not eligible for application. Two or more section scores of 124 is not eligible for application. Residents of all other Canadian provinces and territories must have a minimum total score of 503. Can have only one section score of 125, but the total score must still meet minimum. Any section score of 124 or less is not eligible for application. Two or more section scores of 125 is not eligible for application.
