Description:

Educators don’t just teach subject matter, they guide and support students on pathways of learning. As an educator, your role changes from class to class, semester to semester, year after year. Education is for independent and passionate individuals who envision lasting positive changes in their local communities and across the world.

Students must complete a Bachelor’s degree before applying to the B.Ed. degree. Our 11-month program includes 60 credit hours of coursework and in-school teaching experience.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
Admission to the Bachelor of Education program at UNB Fredericton typically requires the completion of an undergraduate degree with a minimum cumulative grade point (CGPA) average of 2.7. Admission to the Bachelor of Education is highly competitive. The minimum CGPA stated may not be sufficient to secure a place. However, the Faculty of Education offers an admissions advantage program for secondary high school students and first-year UNB students.
Application Notes : With both a four-year program and a 60 credit hours consecutive degree program, our degrees in Adult Education are open to mature students interested in teaching adult learners or coordinating, developing, or managing programs of adult learning.

An international applicant is not required to submit proof of English Language proficiency if the applicant has studied in a high school in Canada for a minimum of 1 year and has achieved a minimum of 70% in Grade 12 English (ENG4U/EAE4U or equivalent course).
