Description:

This 16-month, four-semester program is designed for engineering students and industry professionals interested in advancing their own technology-based startups within one of three tracks: Biomedical Engineering, Emerging Technology or Energy and Sustainable Innovation. Following the lean-startup development process, students take their concepts through three distinct phases: customer discovery, customer validation and customer acquisition, refining their projects from untested ideas into viable businesses. Students will gain the knowledge, skills and hands-on experience necessary to drive and manage innovation in existing companies or their own ventures.

    The minimum admission requirements for the program must include the completion of a four-year undergraduate engineering or science degree from a recognized institution, including a a minimum GPA (grade point average) or equivalent of 3.00/4.33 (B) in the last two years of study.
    Test Scores:
    • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 80]
    Application Notes : If you have not completed two or more years, full-time, at a Canadian university or a university at which English was the primary language of instruction, or have not completed a graduate degree at a university where English was the primary language of instruction, you will be required to provide certification of English language proficiency through one of the accepted examinations listed below. Scores are valid for two years from the test date. It is important to understand that meeting the minimum English proficiency requirements does not guarantee admission. Programs may set additional requirements to these minimum standards. For exemption from this requirement, applicants are required to provide an official statement from their institutions Registrar's office confirming the use of English as the Medium of Instruction for the duration of their study.
