Description:The Early Childhood Education program prepares graduates to work with children (from birth to age 12) and their families in a variety of early childhood settings. The program combines theoretical study with practical experience in a variety of supervised field placements. Graduates may find employment in licensed child care centres, home child care agencies; Early Years centres; school-age child care programs; school boards in Early Learning Programs; international private schools; childrelated businesses; cruise ships; domestic and international nannies; or provide child care in their own homes.

The Fast-Track is available to applicants who have completed a university degree within the last 5 years, in the Social Sciences or a diploma in any human studies program from a community college (course in Developmental Psychology or Child Development is required). The program is 3 continuous semesters in length. Advanced Level Entry (no completed degree or diploma) Entrance into the second year of the program is dependent upon credit match from previous post-secondary education.

Admission Requirements

  •  Grade11 Mathematics 

The Fast-Track is available to applicants who have a university degree in the Social Sciences or a diploma in any human studies program from a community college (course in Developmental Psychology within the previous 5 years of application date is required) .

Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 213] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 79] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 550] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 60]

Students also have to submit a criminal background check and meet the health requirements. Refer to the webpage for further information.

Additional Admission Requirements:
    Apply to college as soon as the application is available in October. Applications received on or before the Equal Consideration Date will be given equal consideration. This is particularly important if you are applying to a program that is in high demand or oversubscribed; that is, a program for which the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of seats available. After the Equal Consideration Date, applications are considered on a first-come, first served basis.
