Mohawk's Social Service Worker (Intensive) program is intended for graduates of degree programs in Humanities or Social Sciences, and diploma programs related to Human Services. Building on previous academic work, students can complete a Social Service Worker diploma with a practicum experience in 8 months.

University degree in Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Education) or college diploma related to Human Services (70% guideline) or equivalent. Please note that preferences will be given to related degrees. Applicants who have completed postsecondary education in outside fields will be considered if they have the following courses: Communications/English, General Elective, Sociology and Psychology (Abnormal/Developmental).

Students whose first language is not English are expected to prove their proficiency with one of the following: successful completion of GAS-EAP (478) Program Level 8 with 70%; TOEFL minimum score of 550 (80 Internet based); IELTS minimum score of 6.0 overall with no band less than 5.5; or an Ontario Secondary School Diploma & English Credit (Grade 12 U, M or C) issued from a public school board.
