Description:The Applied Social Sciences is a broad area of study that draws on the rich and intertwined histories and contributions of both sociology and social work. An interdisciplinary approach to the social sciences allows you to “zoom out” and reveal the patterns and connections in human society and social relationships and the complex relationships and problems that can occur. By equipping you for a life of service, you will be prepared to approach real life situations, ready to help and work with people. Redeemer provides a distinctive program in Sociology as part of a cutting-edge liberal arts education in order to help you develop an in-depth understanding of our world, preparing you to pursue social justice within a genuinely Christian context.

Applicants from Ontario are required to have successfully completed Grade 12 U English, and five additional Grade 12 U or M level courses. Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 570] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5]

Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English through one of the following: TOEFL test score of 570, IELTS test score of 6.5, or CAEL test score of 70. Students who have studied for the last three years in a school where English is the primary spoken/written language may be exempt from language requirements.
