Description:

The perceived shift in attitudes to art production over recent years, caused partly by the ubiquitous nature of technology, has meant there is a renewed interest in painting and how it might flourish in a digital age. The discipline of painting, seen as outmoded by some, has gained a new relevance and focus, and is seen as a rich, complex language of its own.

This new course proposes a more 'disciplinary' approach to study, where painting as a distinct language and discipline can be studied in depth, with students extending and challenging their practice as painters both technically and conceptually.

Prerequisites:

Test Scores:
  • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5]
Application Notes : International applicants must hold a minimum of 6.5 score in the IELTS test for English language.
Additional Admission Requirements:
  • Portfolio
Applicants should ideally hold a good honours degree 2.2 or above in Fine Art or equivalent visual arts course and be committed to the idea of Painting as discreet discipline. Non standard applications from candidates with relevant professional experience will also be considered on an individual basis. The course will require an interview or portfolio review and for International students this can be an online portfolio.
