Careers:Construction Managers

Description:

The urgent need to develop alternative sources of energy is driving an increase in the number of large construction projects requiring development. As a result, there is growing demand for professionals who understand the business aspects of running a company, building technology and the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) used in the project management of construction.

Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), this course is available both full and part-time. So you can work towards Chartered Builder or Chartered Construction Manager status if you are already working in the industry. You will learn how to effectively manage the construction process to meet client needs within external constraints. You will study the principles of economics, business, law, building information modelling (BIM), building design and science, and construction technology. As you progress, you will apply your knowledge and skills to real-life scenarios and a work-based research project or dissertation on a specific topic of interest.
