Description:

Working as part of a multidisciplinary professional team in birth units, community and hospital settings midwives provide care and support for women and their babies during pregnancy, labour and the early postnatal period. This exciting and demanding role carries great responsibility and is incredibly rewarding. The course will enable you to gain the knowledge, skills and values to become a confident, competent, compassionate midwife able to offer the highest quality of care.

Accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), BSc(Hons) Midwifery leads to professional registration as a midwife with the NMC. Our dynamic curriculum has been designed in collaboration with practice partners and midwifery service-users to provide a real-world learning experience. In addition to understanding good midwifery practice and studying the subjects that underpin it, you will develop strong inter-professional and interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with women, their babies and families, as well as healthcare professionals from other disciplines. Specialist optional modules offer the chance to enhance employability through developing additional knowledge and skills. With fully integrated work-based learning and outstanding onsite facilities, you will be taught by an enthusiastic, supportive team with a depth of experience as practicing midwives.

Note that the program is unable to accept applications from international students (overseas fee status) due to funding arrangements.
