Description:

Computers are now an essential part of our lives. We use them at work, to organise our social lives and to play games. They are fundamental to many systems keeping society running smoothly such as hospitals, public transport, governments and banks. Software development involves building programs so these computers effectively fulfil their purpose. With more technology jobs available in the UK than qualified computing graduates, job prospects for software developers have never been better.

Developed by Tech Industry Gold and top graduate employers, this course is designed to give you the technical and business skills you need when you graduate. You will study how software is built from start to finish, covering all the latest technologies including cloud computing, big data and cyber security. You will learn how businesses manage large projects, and develop the professional skills to plan, design and deliver new software on time and within budget. You will develop the skills to collaborate, negotiate and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers; lead teams and projects; and understand how companies operate profitably. During the first year of this course you'll study in City of Bristol College's advanced IT and computing laboratories. You can access UWE Bristol's Frenchay campus and all the facilities and accommodation available to our students. From the second year of your course onwards you'll be based at UWE Bristol's Frenchay campus.
