Description:

Studying Biomedical Science provides you with the scientific knowledge underpinning an understanding of the biology of disease, and its application to diagnose disease and evaluate the effectiveness of treatments.

You will develop skills which are at the forefront of advances in medical science and build the analytical, problem-solving and communication abilities needed for rewarding careers in areas such as medical research, consultancy, education and management. The BSc(Hons) Biomedical Science at UWE Bristol offers a hands-on approach to learning. Beginning with a strong foundation in modern biomedicine, including basic scientific core subjects, the study of specialist biomedical science subjects is integrated through a study of the biology of disease. This provides a broad knowledge base, as well as the flexibility to develop expertise in the areas which interest you most. Working at the cutting-edge of biomedical science and using state-of-the-art equipment, our focus on the application of science in the real-world will prepare you for a variety of exciting careers.

Throughout the course, you will be able to apply your expertise and build professional skills in work-based settings with placements, internships and volunteering roles.
