| In this fast-moving competitive industry there is a demand for talented professionals who understand the sports sector and can use their marketing skills to best effect. The degree has been developed in conjunction with practitioners from the sports marketing industry who are also involved in the delivery of the programme as guest speakers. This enables you to learn directly from their real life experience and industry knowledge. Through this degree, you can develop the skills and knowledge to devise, plan and co-ordinate marketing activities for the sports sector. An important part of the course is the development of an understanding of the unique features of marketing in a sports environment and as part of this you will be introduced to areas such as brand management, licensing and maximising commercial potential. Creativity is a highly-valued attribute in this sector and you will be encouraged to develop fresh approaches to marketing challenges throughout the course. Typical challenges you may face are maximising the commercial return of a sports venue, developing a sustainable fan base for a sports club or sports brand, launching a sportswear range or attracting a media partner for a new venue. |
