Description:Contemporary life is pervaded by many forms of mass media. In Media and Communication Studies, you will meet communication culture in all its richness and complexity, and will be equipped to interpret, assess, and interact with mass media. Moreover, through courses, studio work, field work, and/or internships, you will be enabled to contribute in creative and positive ways to the media landscape. In the end, you will gain the knowledge, perspective, and skills to work with integrity in media professions.

Your first year in the program will involve both hands-on projects and a larger exploration of the media and communication landscape from a Christian perspective. You will work with digital media and collaborate on video productions, while also learning how mass media and pop culture have shaped the habits and practices of contemporary life.

Applicants from Ontario are required to have successfully completed Grade 12 U English, and five additional Grade 12 U or M level courses. Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 570] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5]

Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English through one of the following: TOEFL test score of 570, IELTS test score of 6.5, or CAEL test score of 70. Students who have studied for the last three years in a school where English is the primary spoken/written language may be exempt from language requirements.
