Description:

The MRes in Exercise Science will provide students with a training programme that prepares them for a career in research, delivered by expert staff in a world class teaching and research environment. Based at City Campus, successful applicants will undertake a research-orientated programme of study which when completed enables students to have an advanced understanding of the research process through both theoretical and practical exposure in world class laboratory facilities.

Throughout this Exercise Science MRes students will develop a methodologically and ethically sound project rationale, perform novel research based upon academically rigorous methods, collate experimental findings and exercise critical scientific thought in the interpretation of their findings. This Exercise Science course will provide students with the theoretical and practical skills necessary to obtain employment in the sector, while also developing an ability to communicate through written, oral and IT methods to both specialist and non-specialist audiences, facilitating further study and employment. This Exercise Science MRes course is particularly suited to students who wish to ultimately undertake a PhD degree.
