Studying Health and Social Care is ideal for students who are interested in careers in environments, such as the NHS, Social Services, independent health and social care, voluntary and charitable sectors Students are sometimes taught alongside those undertaking other related degrees, such as Social Policy and Medical Science and Humanities, and will have opportunities to form professional and academic relationships early in their career. This prepares students to work across professional and organisational boundaries - something consistent with the current UK policy aim to achieve better integration between health and social care. This approach focuses on collaboration, preparing graduates well for the world of work.

Students are given an overview of the structure and organisation of UK health and social care and major UK and Welsh Government policy on health and social care provision. The course produces graduates equipped with transferable skills, including team working, communication, presentation, problem-solving and analytical skills.
