Embark on a rewarding research career in biomedical science in industry, government or academic labs. The Department of Immunology offers a research-intensive PhD degree in immunology. Develop strong oral communication, presentation skills and laboratory research acumen in facilities equipped with cutting-edge instrumentation. Explore a wide range of research techniques in important areas including molecular biology and genetics, biochemistry and cell biology of immune cells and animal models of disease.

  • To be considered for admission into the Immunology PhD program, you must have a master's degree or equivalent with a recommended GPA above 3.5. Relevant laboratory research experience with evidence of peer-reviewed publication is preferred, but not required.




    The Department of Immunology requires a minimum TOEFL score of 88 (internet based), with a minimum of 20 points from each section of the rest.

      In addition to the admission requirements described here, all applicants must meet the minimum admission and English language proficiency requirements of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
