|Description:||The Biological Sciences Technology programs at NAIT are comprised of a common first year for all students, offered at the main campus in Edmonton. The common first year is followed by one of three program specializations: Laboratory and Research, Renewable Resources, and the Environmental Sciences. Entrance into the second year is competitive based on the academic performance of the student in Year One.
The Environmental Sciences program stream specializes in training technologists to monitor and assess the quality of our environment. Students will study the impact of human activities on air, water, soil and vegetation, and gain a solid foundation in environmental sampling, assessment and laboratory skills. Graduates work with consulting companies, regulatory agencies and analytical laboratories, or are involved in environmental monitoring for industry.
