Program Information

School:Redeemer University College
Field of Study:Social Work
Description:Do you have a sense that there are a lot of things wrong with the world? That a lot of people need help? At the heart of Sociology and Social Work is a desire to understand the world and to make it a better place. As Christians, the centre of our calling is to minister to the “least of these” as Christ’s servants in this world. The great thing about studying Sociology and Social Work at Redeemer is you never know where God will take you and who God will put in your life.

These majors explore and seek to understand patterns of human social life, why people act, think, and believe as they do within societies, as well as how to help those who need it. Learn to translate your God-given talents and skills to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly in God’s world. You will have the chance to participate in annual visits to correctional institutions, native centres, and inner-city missions while also promoting change on- and off-campus through clubs or hands-on experience in downtown Hamilton.
