Description:

Our B.A. (Honours) Animation degree is a focussed and intense program of study aimed at those students who are serious about developing a career in the animation industry. You will work individually and collaboratively alongside other committed students who are collectively interested in creative problem solving through animation.

This program of study will explore what is it to be an animator. You will develop the practical, conceptual and professional skills necessary to work in the in industry as well as exploring the roles, responsibilities, the creative practices surrounding animation and its application in the broader creative industries. Over three years you will investigate a range of traditional and digital production processes including 2D animation, 3D digital animation, stop motion as well as character design, concept art, and storyboarding. Finally bring it all together using post-production techniques to develop short films, title sequences, visual effect, and a range of applications appropriate to your own individual interests and ambitions.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Students must have the equivalent of the A-levels with BBC must include an art/design related subject. Exceptionally we will consider students who do not have art/design as part of their main study but have a portfolio which demonstrates their potential to succeed in the program to which they are applying.
