This program is a good opportunity for a mechanically minded person to pursue a career in the HVAC or refrigeration industry. Heating and cooling systems are vital to the comfort and operation of homes/buildings, and maintaining the quality of critical temperature products such as food and medical supplies. We'll help you develop the skills and knowledge in many aspects of the trade including electrical and control systems, installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of basic heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems for residential and commercial application.
This program is a first step towards Journeyperson Certification in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic trade. To work in this trade, certification is compulsory through Nova Scotia's Department of Labour and Workforce Development. Graduates may find employment as service technicians, building maintenance staff of large institutions, or tradespersons in the construction industry. |
