Description:

Ever look at a phone app or other piece of software and wonder if you could do that? Chances are, you can – and Confederation College can help! Confederation College’s Computer Programming two-year diploma program will give you the technical skills you need and help to develop your own creativity. You’ll learn how to program in various languages such as HTML5, JavaScript, C#, Java, and SQL. You’ll also gain experience with the art of application design, design patterns, user experience strategies, design techniques, several languages, non-language specific development, deployment and testing for a host of devices and environments.

Designed to help you prepare to engage in self-employed scenarios and learn to work globally, this program features a strong focus on building Full Stack development skills.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 English 
Applicants are required to have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent) with courses from the College (C), University (U), University/College (U/C), or Open (O) preparation levels with Grade 12 English (C/U) Level; or successful completion of the Mature Student Assessment; or successful completion of the General Education Development Test (GED); or appropriate credits from the Academic and Career Entrance program (ACE). Applicants are also recommended to have Grade 12 Mathematics. Applicants not meeting these admission requirements are encouraged to consider the College Access or General Arts and Science Certificate or General Arts and Science Diploma programs or Academic and Career Entrance program (ACE); students who successfully complete one of these programs would be eligible to apply to programs in the Business, Hospitality & Tourism and Media Arts areas.




Program Requirements (for international students):
  • A high school/senior secondary diploma; original transcripts as well as a notarized, translated copy must be provided where applicable.
  • English Proficiency; and Academic IELTS: 6.0, no band lower than 5.5, except for students from India who must have no band lower than 6.0 to meet SDS requirements.




    Alternative Pathways: If you do not meet the entrance requirements, we encourage you to apply for the Pre-Technology - Technology/Aviation program to facilitate success in your technology path.
