Program Information

School:Redeemer University College
Degree:Bachelor; Honours
Field of Study:Clinical Psychology
Description:Ever wonder why you do what you do—and what you can do to improve? Studying psychology at Redeemer will help you understand all the “horizontal” dimensions of humanness—biological, perceptual, emotional, cognitive, linguistic, social, cultural, economic, aesthetic, and more. You’ll learn what psychological science teaches on how each modality relates to psychological functioning, and what it takes to flourish in each domain. You’ll also have plenty of opportunity to explore the crucial “vertical” dimension of psychological functioning, the domain of worship and ultimate valuing, and the importance of a living relationship with the living God. You will also learn to more fully appreciate the people around you and to appreciate each individual as a whole person created in the image of God.

This stream focuses on the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of psychological dysfunction as well as the promotion of strengths and well-being. Courses may include Physiological Psychology, Theory and Methods of Counselling, Psychology of Will and Willpower, Psychoanalytic Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Positive Psychology and more.
