Description:Doing well on the MCAT exam is critical for anyone considering a career in medicine. And in recent years, the MCAT exam for students interested in pursuing medical professions has undergone many changes. This honours degree programs prepares students on topics such as genetics, organic chemistry, biochemistry, physics, and psychology — all key features of the new MCAT format so that when they take the exam, they have the foundational knowledge and skills to best prepare them for success in their applications to medical school. The Pre-Medicine stream focuses on concepts and relevant issues that are impacting human health today, creating a strong foundation and reducing the amount of self-study for the MCAT exam.

Applicants from Ontario are required to have successfully completed Grade 12 U English, Grade 12 U Biology, Grade 12 U Chemistry, Grade 12 U Calculus and Vectors, and two additional Grade 12 U or M level courses. Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 570] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 70] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5]

Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English through one of the following: TOEFL test score of 570, IELTS test score of 6.5, or CAEL test score of 70. Students who have studied for the last three years in a school where English is the primary spoken/written language may be exempt from language requirements.
