Description:The Engineering Materials graduate program recognizes the close relationship between advanced level education and the advancement of knowledge, and is committed to excellence in graduate teaching and research. An emphasis on fundamental scientific research and strong research collaborations with industry characterize our programs.

The MEng is a course-based program in which you can complete eight graduate level courses in one year or five terms, including five from your area of specialization plus one more engineering course (from any department), and no more than two non-engineering courses.

Admission Requirements

Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 237] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 92]

The GRE is recommended for students graduating from Universities outside of North America. All applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English to be considered for admission.

The minimum GPA admission requirement is based on the last two years of study, or last 20 credits and must be the North American equivalent of: MASc program: 70%, of PhD program: 80%. A minimum of two (2) Confidential Reports are required, however three are preferred. Referees should submit directly to the Registrar’s Office in a sealed envelope with their signature across the seal. Applicants must also submit a Statement of interest.
