Description:The MFA program is a studio-intensive program centred on research in contemporary choreography and dance dramaturgy within diverse theatrical dance events.

York’s Dance MFA is unique — the only program in the world to offer research opportunities in both choreography and dance dramaturgy within the context of diverse contemporary dance practices. The MFA is aligned with the Dance Department’s pioneering BFA program (the oldest and largest of its kind in Canada) and builds on the 30-year history of York’s internationally recognized MA in Dance.

Admission Requirements

Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 600] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 250] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 100] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 7.5]
