Description:

The Adult Basic Education Program (ABE) is a provincial program for adult learners, and is comprised of three levels: Level I refers to basic literacy and is considered equivalent to grades K-6; Level II is considered equivalent to grades 7-9; Level III is considered equivalent to grades 10-12. Students are required to successfully complete a minimum of 36 credits in order to graduate.

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Placement into Level II or Level III courses at Academy Canada will be determined by those courses already completed by the applicant at the junior or senior high school level, ABE equivalent, and/or grade equivalent identified using the Canadian Adult Achievement Test (CAAT) Level B. Students must be at least 18 years of age, and be out of high school for at least one year in order to meet the entrance requirements.
    Additional Admission Requirements:
      Students must submit two written letters of reference (no personal references) and a clearance letter from their local police department. Students must also complete a General Aptitude Test Battery administered by Academy Canada.
