Description:

The Sociology program at Providence, like every other program within the social sciences, aims to teach an appreciation of a commitment to the common good and well-being of human life. To study with the Christian perspective that every person has intrinsic worth. The courses enable students to develop their skills in critical analysis through the examination of sociological theories, the use of sociological methods, and social data. This is done in comparison to the other fields of Social Science and the Humanities.

Students will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of the various approaches to the interactions and connections between Christianity and Sociology. They will learn how to express how people as individuals, affiliations, and societies develop, function, and adapt on a regular basis. Collectively, the self-understanding of students will be enriched as well, aiding to an enhanced satisfaction of life.
