This programme is designed to train veterinary nurses to the highest standards to work professionally as part of a veterinary team and also within allied sectors. In response to enthusiastic interest and support from the veterinary profession in Ireland, UCD has collaborated with a wide group of professional veterinary bodies to develop this four-year Veterinary Nursing degree. You will study all the essential veterinary nursing modules to ensure that you qualify as a highly trained and knowledgeable Veterinary Nurse.
Much of the programme is taught on the Belfield campus, while animal teaching is based in the University Veterinary Hospital (UVH) and at Lyons Estate, a special teaching and research facility in Co Dublin. Clinical rotations, a crucial part of your degree, take place in the University Veterinary Hospital in Belfield. The caseload provides important opportunities for our students to complete your clinical training requirements. |

Domestic applicants require passes in six subjects (including two at minimum HC3) including: Irish, English (minimum Grade C3 LC Ordinary Level), Mathematics (minimum Grade C3 LC Ordinary Level), and one laboratory science subject OR Home Economics (minimum Grade C3 LC Higher Level).
Grade 12 Secondary School Diploma: The minimum for consideration is minimum score of C in six subjects, which includes a minimum of B in two subjects, with English and specific programme requirements. |
