Description:

Greek is concerned with the study of classical Greek language, literature and culture. You have the opportunity to read in the original language the works of such authors as Homer, Herodotus, Sophocles and Plato. These works are not only fascinating in themselves, but are also basic to an understanding of later European culture. Greek history is also studied as part of the Greek programme.

The quality of the BA degree is recognised by employers who want well-educated and versatile employees. The flexibility it provides allows graduates to enter a host of professions including general management, literature and drama, advertising and public relations, banking and business, journalism, politics, human resources management, public service, teaching, non-profit sector roles and tourism, to name a few.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Domestic applicants require passes in six subjects (including two at minimum HC3) including: Irish, English, a third language, and three other recognised subjects.

    Grade 12 Secondary School Diploma: The minimum for consideration is minimum score of C in six subjects, which includes a minimum of B in two subjects, with English and specific programme requirements.
