Description:

The McMaster psychiatry postgraduate program is a Royal College accredited psychiatry residency program committed to training physicians to treat those with serious mental illness in a compassionate and scholarly manner. We are committed to providing evidenced-based treatments in a team-based model, with a focus on recovery from mental illness across the lifespan. Boasting a large faculty-to-student ratio and access to a tremendous variety of clinical programs and research opportunities, McMaster residents train with individual attention.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Preference will be given to candidates registered at CPA or APA accredited clinical or clinical neuropsychology programs, although applicants from non-accredited programs are also encouraged to apply. Prior to beginning the residency, applicants must have completed all of the requirements of their doctoral program except for the dissertation, including a minimum of 1,000 practicum hours.
