Description:

The department offers programs leading to the degrees of MEng, MScE and PhD. Please refer to the calendar of the School of Graduate Studies for more information on the requirements for these programs and for a list of the graduate courses offered. Graduate programs in biomedical engineering and nuclear engineering, in association, respectively, with the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, and the Department of Chemical Engineering are also provided.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    The requirements for entrance into the PhD program are a Master's degree from a recognized university, or the equivalent. Masters students performing at an excellent level, on application, may be permitted to transfer their registration to the PhD program without finishing their current program. PhD candidates are required to take the following examinations. Qualifying examination consisting of written/and or oral questions in two areas of Mechanical Engineering; Oral examination on their research proposal and field of study.
