Description:

Interested in the environment, agriculture and a rewarding career focusing on care and management of the Irish countryside? Check out our degree specialising in Agri-Cultural Sciences. Agri-Environmental Sciences focuses on how we use natural ecosystems and processes, their diverse components (plants, animals, air, soils and water) and how we can manage them for sustainable use by current and future generations.

The programme develops your scientific understanding of farming, forestry and other land-use systems and their inter-dependency with the ‘natural’ environment. In studying this degree option, you will gain a specialised knowledge of the important influence and role of these primary industries in maintaining environmental quality, and acquire practical skills in integrated agri-environmental management, landscape, plant and wildlife conservation, environmental planning, assessment and protection.
