Description:An honors specialization in Pathology & Toxicology is offered jointly through the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology leading to a BMSc degree. Students can take a number of Pathology courses including Pathology 3240A (Understanding Mechanisms of Disease), Pathology 3245B (Diseases of Organ Systems), Pathology 4200A (Current Concepts in the Pathogenesis of Human Diseases), Pathology 4400B (Environmental Pathology), and Pathology 4500B (Introduction to Forensic Sciences). Students in the honors specialization also undertake a thesis-based research project (Pathology & Toxicology 4980E) in their 4th year under the supervision of a faculty member of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Course materials, class exercises, etc., for all courses can be accessed and viewed through WebCT-OWL.

Although Western offers first year Physics courses that do not require secondary school Physics as a prerequisite, it is strongly recommended that students complete Physics, SPH4U.
