Description:

The Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies is a small academic unit whose members bring a deep personal commitment to their work both as researchers and teachers. A graduate program in German has existed since 1991-1992. It covers the whole range of German literature from the Middle Ages to the present years, and its focus has sharpened on literary and culture studies of the last two centuries. We offer a high-quality academic program with a low faculty-to-student ratio. Our graduate students collaborate with faculty members on their thesis projects and professional development. Our aim is to foster your critical thinking and intellectual curiosity. We are committed to maintaining a vibrant program that encourages you to analyze, synthesize, and present important components of Germanic Studies, such as cultural studies, literary and film studies, and applied linguistics.
