|Description:||Gives students the flexibility to follow their interests while building a strong foundation in the core areas of business. During the first two years, students take a broad selection of elective courses in Arts & Science, including core courses aimed to prepare them for the studies to follow. The third year is an intensive, fast-paced experience that focuses on developing the ability to work in teams, public speaking, project, and time management. It exposes students to the key functional areas of business and provides them with an understanding of the challenges and issues associated with building sustainable competitive organizations. In the final year, students expand and deepen their understanding of management by completing a capstone course designed to provide hands-on experience and a set of elective courses that satisfy their desired combination of topic breadth and depth. The co-operative education option, normally taken after completion of the third year, allows students to work in an organization for up to 16 months. An employer prescreening process ensures that the work experience is truly meaningful and adds significant value to the formal classroom education.
The following options related to various management areas are offered to provide guidance to students in determining a set of elective courses: Human Resources; Finance; Accounting; Marketing; Supply Chain / Operations Management; Entrepreneurial Technology; and General Management. These options do not appear on students' official record and are only for guidance regarding possible careers to pursue after their degree.
