|Description:||Program focus is both in the traditional periods and areas of English literary studies and in critical/theoretical approaches to texts.
We emphasize an interdisciplinary approach to textual studies and you are encouraged to be as imaginative and wide-ranging in your work as you choose to be. Special emphasis is placed on literatures since 1800, including Canadian and postcolonial literatures, and on literary theory and linguistics and stylistics.
