DIETRAC Technical Institute offers a 36-week entry level training program in welding. This program is designed to assist individuals in developing sufficient basic skills and knowledge to enter the labour force as apprentice welders.
Trade theory includes the study of fundamental principles of general shop practice, precision measurement, basic drawing and sketching, introduction to template development, SMAW position butt welding, SMAW position fillet welding, GMAW fundamentals, GTAW findamentals, introduction to pipe welding - SMAW, shielded metal arc welding, first aid, WHMIS and safety instruction. |
