Description:Primarily, the mathematical research in our department is carried out in representation theory, measure theory, and functional analysis. Representation theory involves the classification, construction and internal properties of concrete realizations of algebraic structures. Measure theory abstracts the essential features of the concepts of length, area and volume; functional analysis does the same for convergence concepts in Euclidian space and their relationship to the underlying algebraic structure.
