History is the study of change and continuity in human communities over time. The programs offered by the Department of History emphasize the modern world in a global framework. A range of approaches to history, from poltical and cultural through social and intellectual, to environment and medicine, find representation. The Department offers full and part-time MA and PhD degrees to candidates.
