Description:

The practice of pharmacy has evolved beyond the traditional dispensing functions. Therefore, the need for knowledgeable, technically skilled and competent supportive personnel is paramount. The Pharmacy Assistant program is designed to train Pharmacy Assistants to assist registered pharmacists or pharmacy technician in community and hospital settings in their respective drug distribution systems. In addition to practical training using a commercial computer system, skills in communication and interpersonal relations will be developed. The program is 38 weeks in duration and includes 6 weeks of practicum placement.

Because this is a nationally accredited program, students who graduate from CBBC will be eligible to write a national exam and transfer their certification to other provinces in Canada.

Prerequisites:

  •  Grade12 Science 
A High School Diploma consisting of, English, Math, Biology, Chemistry, and a medical, copy of immunizations and a clean criminal record.
Application, resume, and transcript of Grade 12 marks (or GED) must be received prior to your interview. An interview and aptitude test must be completed before any acceptance into the program can be considered.
