Description:

Art Therapy utilizes the healing and self-reflective aspects of the creative process to address issues across the life span, and across the whole spectrum of human conditions. The Institute believes that visual and plastic arts have the advantage to by-pass the often highly defended secondary process of language and permit direct expression of dreams, fantasies, fears and other inner experiences.

The Institute uses a blended model of periodic intensive experiential coursework offered on-site once per year, combined with online theoretical courses and clinical placements in the student’s home community. Supervision is offered to distance students when on site as group supervision, and online when in the home community. Students may arrange clinical placements in his or her place of work if approved by the Institute. The Distance structure is designed to be able to meet individual needs within the requirements of the art therapy training program. If you have any questions about your situation, please feel free to contact the Institute.
